This year’s Global Carrier Awards was my first opportunity to talk on behalf of Télécoms Sans Frontières in front of a major audience: more than 400 members of the telecommunication community. This ceremony takes place during Capacity Europe; the largest carrier event in the continent that brings together more than 650 companies of the voice and data industry over three days of networking and conferences.
Like every year, Capacity Media, the organiser but also TSF’s partner, invites Télécoms Sans Frontières to give the special award for humanitarian engagement. A great opportunity for us to meet with “la crème de la crème” of the telecommunication industry but above all, a great opportunity to thanks our partners, nominated for the awards.
Finally back to @Ville_Pau after our trip to #London to attend the #GlobalCarrierAwards ceremony of #CapacityEurope organised by @capacitymedia. Thanks to all the #telecommunication companies present, particularly to all the partners of @TSF_Intl and congrats for the awards! pic.twitter.com/trzPnq08ux

Therefore, TSF’s co-founder and director, Monique Lanne-Petit and I, took a flight to London, with our ceremony speech well rehearsed and our dress well ironed! Something rather unusual for humanitarians like us… But indeed essential at the time to come up on stage, in front of all the black tie senior-level representatives of the voice & data industry.
Even world record-breaking polar explorer and guest speaker, Ben Saunders, put the bow tie on to relate his incredible journey across antarctica. His speech was truly inspiring.

So I hope was mine about TSF story and 20th anniversary. At least, many of the attendees came to us at the end of the ceremony to share their admiration for TSF’s work. Hopefully possible new partners…
